Atypical Head CT Artifact Due to Air Bubbles in X-Ray Tube Cooling System: Potential Misdiagnosis
Our goal is to educate about the possibility and CT image appearance of an air bubble artifact to help radiologists identify the problem rapidly. Recognizing the issue quickly will eliminate the patient being triaged for stroke and allay unnecessary stress to the patient. Early detection
will also rule out costly and time-consuming supplementary scans as well as eliminate the radiation dose burden to patients from additional CTs.
