Initial presentations of hyperglycemia may include neurologic manifestations, for example, focal seizures. Although hyperglycemia-induced acute repetitive seizures commonly involve the motor cortex, the occipital lobe has also been found to initiate seizures secondary to hyperglycemia, with corroborating findings on electroencephalography and MR imaging. The MR imaging findings associated with acute repetitive seizures can mimic an underlying focal infection or malignancy, but in this case, complete resolution of findings after treatment supports a diagnosis of hyperglycemia-induced focal seizures.
