Sagging Eye Syndrome: A Case Report
Sagging eye syndrome is a connective tissue disorder of senility. The lateral rectus-superior rectus band is a band of connective tissue that suspends the lateral rectus muscle from the superior rectus muscle in the orbit. With age, the band degenerates, stretches, and displaces the
lateral rectus muscle inferiorly. Early recognition on orbital MR imaging will avoid a more costly and time-intensive neurologic work-up and offer surgical and nonsurgical treatment options.
