A Case of Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory‐like Syndrome in a Patient with Multiple Sclerosis Secondary to Discontinuation of Fingolimod
We reported a case of a 41-year-old man with MS who was initially treated with fingolimod, but this treatment was stopped when the patient declined neurologically with associated lymphopenia. After medication discontinuation, the patient's clinical condition worsened dramatically. MR
imaging findings demonstrated significant changes consistent with an immune reconstitution inflammatory‐like syndrome. The purpose of this case report was to increase awareness of this rarely reported condition with fingolimod withdrawal in patients with MS.
