MRI Brain Findings of Intravenous Iron Therapy
This case explored MR imaging findings in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis who had received IV iron for anemia of chronic disease before undergoing brain MR imaging to evaluate for acute stroke. To the author's knowledge, this is the first case report of the unique imaging characteristics
of IV iron therapy. The case discussion explored the effect of this paramagnetic medication on the classic MR imaging sequences used to evaluate for acute stroke.
