Staged Endovascular Treatment of a Complex Intraorbital Arteriovenous Malformation: A Case Report
Orbital arteriovenous malformations are rare vascular lesions of the orbit, which may present with chemosis, hemorrhage, exophthalmos, bruit, vision loss, and pain. Endovascular treatment of these lesions is rarely reported. We report our experience with a woman who presented with progressive
exophthalmos and conjunctival injection due to a complex intraorbital arteriovenous malformation. She was successfully treated with staged transarterial embolization, with improvement in clinical symptoms. Endovascular techniques and clinical response to treatment are discussed.
