Discoid Lupus—An Unusual Cause of Diplopia

Diplopia is a common ocular symptom that is caused by various central and orbital etiologies. Orbital trauma, pseudotumors, and orbital masses are commonly included in the differential diagnosis of diplopia. Discoid lupus is a rare cause of diplopia that may manifest with progressive infiltration of the orbital fat. We present a case of mono-ocular diplopia secondary to long-standing discoid lupus in the face. The presence of characteristic skin lesions and serum markers helps to establish the definitive diagnosis.
