Intraoperative Ultrasound of the Spine
Intraoperative sonography of the spine was performed in 14 patients between 2011 and 2013 for intraspinal lesion delineation. Using intraoperative sonography, the neuroradiologist was able to direct the surgical exposure by helping the neurosurgeon determine the need for extension of
the laminectomy or by directing the location of the durotomy and/or myelotomy. Learning Objective: Understand the complimentary role of intraoperative ultrasound of the spine in the surgical treatment of spinal lesions.
