Intracranial Foreign Body Reaction to Embolic Material Mimicking High-Grade Glioma

Vascular embolization using n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate as embolic material has been indicated to treat CNS vascular malformations, such as AVMs, over the past decades. Even though the procedure is considered safe, complications after intracranial embolization are possible. In this report, we sought to describe a 32-year-old patient with a successful cerebral AVM embolization that developed a space-occupying intracerebral lesion that mimicked a primary brain neoplasm on imaging. The mass was pathologically confirmed as a foreign body‐type reaction, presumably to n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate.
