Morel-Lavallée Lesion of the Lumbar Region: A Case Report

The Morel-Lavallée lesion is a rare injury that results from shearing of the blood vessels and lymphatic channels that pass between the subcutaneous tissues and the muscular fascia. The lesion is typically located over the greater trochanter of the femur and, therefore, most commonly reported in the musculoskeletal radiology literature. We present a case of a Morel-Lavallée lesion of the lumbosacral spine, a less common location for this lesion that radiologists should recognize.
